Many conservatives who have been shadow-banned, blocked or otherwise censored on the Twitter social media platform over the years are throwing a digital party now that Elon Musk is finalizing his purchase of the company with plans to take it private.
The self-described “free speech absolutist” from South Africa issued a statement about his successful purchase of Twitter for $44 billion, claiming that “free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated.”
“I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans,” Musk added. “Twitter has tremendous potential – I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it.”
First off, the United States is a constitutional republic, Elon, not a democracy. Secondly, how are you planning to “authenticat[e] all humans,” and what kind of Orwellian speech is that anyway?
Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) was unphased by this strange and concerning use of language, tweeting that “This is a great day to be conservative on Twitter” in response to Musk’s statement.
The Daily Wire‘s Michael Knowles tested the waters with even more controversy by tweeting about how “The 2020 presidential election was obviously rigged.”
“Public health officials lied repeatedly about COVID-19,” Knowles wrote in a separate tweet that prior to Musk’s takeover would have resulted in a “misinformation” label being affixed, or possibly even a ban.
Knowles wrote a few other zingers that in times past would have created a firestorm of controversy on Twitter, including a post about how “Ivermectin is a wonder drug.”
Knowles also tweeted about how the “experts” agree that “[t]ransgenderism isn’t a real category of being.”
Erick Aguilar, a Republican who is running for Congress in Florida’s 4th District, also tweeted about how ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) both work to treat the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19), and that the “vaccines” are “ineffective.”
Aguilar further wrote that masks do not work to protect against the Fauci Flu; so-called “booster” shots are “killing people;” and his own personal opinion that Dr. Robert Malone and Joe Rogan “are heroes,” adding that he hopes Musk “keeps his word” concerning the allowance of free speech on Twitter.
Arizona Republican Sen. Wendy Rogers joined in the fun by simply tweeting “TRUMP WON,” as well as “Only women can get pregnant.”
“When I see him, I think of the character O’Brien in Orwell’s Nineteen Eight-Four,” wrote a commenter at Natural News, offering a different take concerning Musk. “He talks against the New World Order and AI while at the same time promoting Neuralink which will merge people’s brains with AI.”
“He also said you can turn someone into a butterfly with mRNA, and after that a huge butterfly was a part of the creepy light show at the Space Needle in Seattle on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, 2020.”
“Wernher von Braun’s 1948 sci-fi novel Project Mars: A Technical Tale (English translation, 1953) projected that ‘the Martian government was directed by ten men, the leader of whom was elected by universal suffrage for five years and entitled Elon. Revelation 17:12 – ‘The ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but along with the Beast they will receive authority like kings for one hour.’ I’m not saying Musk is the Antichrist, but it’s something to watch out for.”
